Bhubaneswar : After a long waiting of 34 years, the 99th Indian Science Congress is going to be held from 3rd - 7th January 2012 in the premises of KIIT University, Odisha. To popularize the Science Congress among the common mass and student community of Odisha it is scheduled to be sent a messenger (BIGYAN RATH) to every district and to touch each and every individual. BIGYAN RATH is scheduled to start from Khandapada, Nayagarh, the holistic place and the renowned birth place of famous Odia Astronomer Pathani Samanta on 14th November 2011, which will cover its journey through all 30 districts of Odisha. The Rath will be inaugurated by His Excellency Shri Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, Hon’ble Governor of Odisah. Bigyan Rath with its wide visionary will spread the message about science, Science Congress, popularization of science and will enhance a scientific temperament among the common masses.
This Rath will take 20 days in total to cover all 30 districts, cover more than 600 educational institutes (20 school colleges in each district) of Odisha and will reach Cuttack on 3rd December, 2011 at the historic miracle ‘Ravenshaw University’. To popularize the Science Congress among the students of different School and college of Odisha, an essay & quiz competition has been organized by KIIT. On 3rd December, the winners of state level essay & quiz competition will be awarded.
‘Bigyan Rath’, will carry the message of Indian Science congress and too will be an invitation from Dr. A. Samanta, Founder KIIT-KISS to the common masses present in every district , inviting them to attend this journey and to Join ISC-2012 at KIIT University during 3rd to 7th January,2012 to witness this biggest scientific event.
