VISAKHAPATNAM-DIGHA NEW TRAIN TO BE INTRODUCED FROM 17TH FEBRUARY

Bhubaneswar, 16^th Feb’2012:

As announced in last Railway Budget for running of a weekly express train between Visakhapatnam & Digha and to provide better facilities to the commuters, Railways have decided to introduce a new train between Visakhapatnam & Digha w.e.f. from 17^th February 2012.

On the inaugural run, Digha-Visakhapatnam-Digha weekly Express will be inaugurated from Ramnagar Station and will run as a special train on open fast times towards Visakhapatnam. However, the regular service of 22874/22873 Visakhapatnam-Digha-Visakhapatnam Express will commence from Visakhapatnam w.e.f. 23^rd Feb’12 & from Digha w.e.f. 24^th Feb’2012.

          22874/22873Visakhapatnam-Digha-Visakhapatnam Weekly Superfast Express will leave Visakhapatnam at 17.50hrs on every Thursday w.e.f. 23^rdFeb’2012 and will arrive at Digha at 09.30hrs on the next days. In the return direction, this train will leave Digha at 17.15hrs on every Friday w.e.f. 24^thFeb’2012 and will arrive at Visakhapatnam at 08.20hrs on the following days.

          This train has One AC-2 tier, One AC-3 tier, SixSleeper Class Coaches, Six General Second Class Coaches and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppages at Vizianagaram, Palasa, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jaleswar, Kharagpur, Panskura, Tamluk and Kanthi between Visakhapatnam & Digha.
