The six hospitals that came into an MoU with
the State Government today are Care Hospital, Vishakhapatnam; Apollo Hospital,
Vishakhapatnam; SevenHills Hospital, Vishakhapatnam; Escort Heart Centre,
Raipur; Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital, Raipur and Ramkrishna Care Hospital,
Raipur.
The Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik attended
the MoU function as Chief Guest. The
Chief Minister expressed that After the introduction of Odisha State Treatment
Fund Scheme on 15th December, 2011, the demand on Government Health
Institutions has increased substantially leading to long waiting list for
treatment, especially in case of highly specialized treatment relating to
Heart, Lungs, Kidney and the likes.
Further, some specialized treatments are also not available within the
state. So, a conscious decision was
taken to empanel good private hospitals both within and outside the state as
referral hospitals for specialized treatment.
Out
of the 21 hospitals empanelled so far, MoU with 14 hospitals located within the
state was signed last month. Today, MoU
will be signed with 6 private hospitals located in Visakhapatnam and
Raipur. This will greatly benefit the
people of our State, and more particularly the people of KBK districts because
of their proximity to Visakhapatnam and Raipur.
The Chief Minister congratulate the representatives of private
hospitals present here for entering into an MoU with the Government of Odisha and wish that they would provide the best
available treatment to the patients referred to their hospitals under OSTF.
The function was attended by Health Minister
Dr. Damodar Rout, Chief Secretary, Health Secretary and representatives of
private hospitals.
