Bhubaneswar (Pravakar Sahoo)-Today a meeting was held chaired by Sri Prasanna Acharya Minister Health & Family Welfare regarding the strike of medical students .Chief Secretary , Principal Secretary Home , Law , Commissioner-cum-Secretary Health & FW , MD NRHM , DMET and other Officials were present. A detailed discussion was held on their demands. After the meeting Minister Sri Acharya told that :
1. It has been decided to prevent Sisir Kumar Dandia from entering the campus of VSS Medical College and Hospital, Burla through a prohibitory order under section 144 Cr Pc.
2. Steps are being taken to prevent anti-social elements from creating disturbance within the campus by using appropriate preventive measures under Cr Pc.
3. Police have taken steps to erect barricades on both sides of the road running through the campus to regulate the entry of visitors.
4. Adequate police force has been deployed in the campus to maintain law and order.
5. Instructions have been given to the medical college Principals and Superintendents to decide their ‘Security Plan’ and involve students’ representatives in formulation of the plan
6. In the interest of the academic career of the students, and in consideration of the requests received from various quarters, it has been decided to lift sine die from 20.9.2011.
