Konark Festival : Kuchupudi Guru Jaikishore Mosalikanti and troupe, Chennai



















Bhubaneswar : Trained under Padmabhushan Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam of the Kuchupudi Art Academy, Chennai, Sri Mosalikanti Jaikishore, son of violinist Sri M.S. Rao has grown into an accomplished Kuchupudi exponent. His technical perfection, incomparable flexibility, and complete transformation into the character have earned him rare reviews and accolades, In recognition to his accomplishment as an excellent performer and an understanding teacher, Jaikishor was awarded the title “NATYA VISHAARADA,” by kucupudi Arts Academy in march 1999, and the title of: YUVA KALA. All his choreographies were critically acclaimed by scholars, critics and connoisseurs of arts.

Presentation

KUCHUPUDI NRITYAMAALIKA:

Ananda Narthana Ganapatim : Invocation piece describing the beauty of joyous dance by Lord Ganesha.

Tarangam : Tarangam, an unique piece in Kuchupudi repertoire, has the 3 important elements of the classical dance, Nritya (pure dance), Nritya  (Expressions) and Natya (drama). This dance depicts the beauty and greatness of lord Krishna, by enacting two episodes from his Life story.

Thillana: Thillana is a pure dance number, where the dancers exhibit rhythmic variations and different formations.

Aarathi: In this number the narrator invites all the girls to join him in giving the aarati to Lord Venkateswara, and praise the Lord of his ten incarnations which were formed to restore the dharma.
