Proutist BIoc announces to field 50 candidates in panchayat polls

Bhubaneswar, Dec. 10: Proutist Bloc, India (PBI) on Saturday announced to field at least 50 candidates in the coming panchayat elections in Odisha.
The candidates would be fielded in Keonjhar, Koraput, Balasore and Bolangir districts.
Announcing this at the three-day cadre training programme being held at Kalinga Stadium here in the city, Mr Subhas Chandra Tyagi, national chairman of the PBI, said persons with high moral background and integrity would be chosen as candidates.
“In fact, we have identified potential candidates for the elections. Once they return from the training programme, they will launch their mass contact programme,” Mr Tyagi said.
In 2009, the PBI had fielded Mr Jagannath Lenka as its Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha candidate.
The PBI would also contest the next Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Mr Tyagi informed.
Acharya Santoshanda, the PBI public relations officer, said the basic objective behind participating in the election process is to ensure that economic democracy was established in the society through guarantee of minimum requirements such as food, cloth, shelter, education and healthcare facilities.
Speaking on the poll planks, the PBI president said the organization would embark upon its mission to provide 100 per cent employment to local youths in their own areas, prevent loot of mineral resources and strengthen the rural economy.
“We would tell people that they deserve a corruption-free and efficient administration. Out motto is to remove poverty and establish a society of people where individual labour and dignity is honoured in accordance with their contribution and accountability to the society,” the PBI president said.
The cadre training programme, among other was attended by PBI national general secretary Rajesh Singh, state chairman Jagannath Prasad Lenka and general secretary Kulamani Nayak.
