SOUTHERN RAILWAY WON THE 34TH ALL INDIA RAILWAY WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP-2011

         The closing ceremony of 34^th All India Railway Women’s Volley Ball Championship-2011 was held in Railway Stadium, Visakhapatnam. The Chief Guest of this occasion was Shri. Indra Ghosh, General Manager, East Coast Railway. Final match was held between Southern Railway and Central Railway. Guest of honour was Shri. D.K.Samanta Ray President,E.Co.R.S.A.,Bhubaneswar.Soutern Railway won the match beating defending champion Central Railway.Third position was secured by Western Railway.Seven teams representing Eastern Railway, Central Railway, Southern Railway, South Central Railway, Western Railway, South Eastern Railway and East Coast Railway participating in the four days event. Eight league matches were conducted on 7^th and 8^th of December out of which four teams Eastern Railway, Western Railway, Central Railway and Southern Railway entered into semifinals after having nail-bite fighting between the teams. The semifinals were also very interesting. The teams which lost entry to finals were as equal as finalists. As expected both the teams SR & CR fought for the title with full strength and Southern Railway won the cup. The presentation to the Winner and Runner-up teams were given by Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion Shri. Indra Ghosh said that this is a good opportunity for the ECoRSA-Waltair to prove its capability to organize such events successfully in the near future. He the match was exiting and conveyed best wishes to every one for making the events grand success. ADRM shri.C.MadhusudanaRao and Sr.DCM H.L.Luwang were also graced the occassion.
