ASSISTANT AGRICULTURE ENGINEER ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE on GRAFT CHARGE

  Bhubaneswar , 17/7 ( Odisha Samachar Bureau ) -   Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.29 dated.16.07.2013 U/s  7 P.C. Act was registered against Sri Tirjok Mohanty, Asst. Agriculture Engineer, Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar for demand  of illegal gratification of Rs. 16,000/- from the  complainant  Sri Ajaya Kumar Lenka , Proprietor M/s Lenka Agency, Gudiapokhari, Pipili, Dist- Puri  to    authenticate the sale information uploaded by the complt. on the Web site of Agriculture Department regarding supply of 42 nos of Crompton Grieves / Texmo brand pump sets   to different farmers on subsidized price as per the permit  issued by the AAO, Pipili, which in turn would help the complt. to receive the   subsidy amount from the Govt.  

                        In course of investigation a trap was laid on 17.7.2013 by the Vigilance Officers of Bhubaneswar Division. Sri Tirjok Mohanty, Asst. Agriculture Engineer,   was caught red handed by the Vigilance Officers in his office room at Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar while accepting bribe amount of  Rs 16,000/- from the Complt. Sri Lenka as per previous demand.   Bribe amount Rs 16,000/- was recovered  from   office table  drawer of Asst. Agriculture Engineer Sri Mohanty and seized in presence of witnesses. His hand wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe.

                        Sri Tirjok Mohanty, Asst. Agriculture Engineer, Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar has been arrested .
