KIIT Signs MoU with Eight International Universities






Bhubaneswar ,20/7 ( Odisha Samachar Bureau) - KIIT University participated in the World Education Leaders’ Forum held in Busan, South Korea recently. The University signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six Korean universities - Jungwon University, Hanbuk National University, Kyungpook National University, Chosun University, Dong-A University and Dong Uie University - and two African universities - Kenyatta University and Open University of Tanzania - during the meet.  

According to the provisions of the agreement, students of KIIT would get opportunity to visit the partner universities in Korea and Africa. Travelling expenses would be partially borne by KIIT, while lodging and boarding would be taken care of by the host universities.

The Secretary-General of the Forum, Prof Lee Hakchun desired to establish Korean Education Centre at KIIT University. He also expressed interest in 2+2 system between KIIT University and the Korean Universities, besides opening a Cyber University for long distance learning. Prof. Emmanuel Dolo, National Youth Policy Advisor to President, Ministry of State & Presidential Affairs, Liberia expressed his desire to send students to KIIT. Prof. Tolly Mbwette, Vice Chancellor, Open University of Tanzania would be visiting KIIT in September this year to strengthen the ties. Similarly, Mr. Young Woo Jin, CEO of UNHWA Corporation, South Korea, a bio-venture company, showed keenness in recruiting students from the School of Biotechnology, KIIT.

Dr. A. Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, who could not attend the meet, gave the congratulatory message at the opening ceremony via video network. The experiment of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) - a protégé of KIIT and an expression of its social responsibility, which provides free education from KG to PG, food, accommodation and all other basic amenities to 20,000 tribal children free of cost – evoked a lot of curiosity amongst the participants. Some of them wanted to replicate this experiment in their respective countries as a part of their corporate social responsibility.

Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Joint Registrar, KIIT University addressed the students faculty of Dong-A University. Students of KIIT University attended the three weeks Global Leadership Camp and won prizes in various events.
