Vigilance P.S. Case No.28 dated.12.07.2013 U/s 7 P.C. Act was registered
against Sri Banamali Nayak, S.I of Police, Kumbharpada P.S, Dist-Puri for
demand of illegal gratification of
7,000/- from the complainant Sri
Suryakanta Pradhan of Vill- Khamara P.S-Chhendipada Dist-Angul at present
residing his father in law’s house at Matiapada P.S- Kumbharpada
Dist-Puri for submitting the case diary in Kumbharpada P.S case No. 222/13 to
the Court for bail and not to visit the house of the complainant for
arrest of the brother in law and father in law of the complainant.
In course of
investigation a trap was laid on 13.7.2013 by the Vigilance Officers of
Bhubaneswar Division. Sri Banamali Nayak, Sub-Inspector of Police was caught
red handed by the Vigilance Officers at back side of Gundicha Badi temporary
police out post near Gundicha Temple ,Puri while accepting bribe amount
of 7,000/- from the
Complt. Sri Pradhan as per previous demand. Bribe amount 7,000/- was
recovered from the uniform pant pocket of S.I Sri Nayak and seized
in presence of witnesses. His hand and pant pocket wash gave positive
chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe.
Sri Banamali
Nayak, S.I of Police, Kumbharpada P.S, Dist-Puri has been arrested and
forwarded to Court on 13.7.2013 from where remanded to judicial custody till
26.7.2013.
Investigation
of the case is continuing.
