STENO TO DIST. WELFARE OFFICER CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE:

                         

     Bhubaneswar , 17/7 ( Odisha Samachar Bureau ) -    Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.06 dt.16.02.1996 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/ 7 P.C. Act/ 471/420  IPC was  charge sheeted against   Sri Krushna Chandra Panigrahi, Steno to Dist. Welfare Officer, Balasore for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of 6,000/- from the complt. Sri Mangal Singh of Pinchhabania, P.S- Raibania Dist-Balasore for issuing appointment order in favour of   Sri Singh  who was selected  as Sevak (Teacher in Ashram School) by the Dist. Welfare Officer, Balasore. The case was under trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.

 On completion of trial, the Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore in his judgment dt. 16.07.2013 held Sri Krushna Chandra Panigrahi, Ex-Steno to Dist. Welfare Officer, Balasore(Retd.) guilty of the charges, convicted and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 2 years and to pay fine of 20,000/-, in default of payment of fine to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 1 year more on each count for the offence u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 P.C. Act. The substantive sentences are to run consecutively.
