Bhubaneswar ,27/7 ( Odisha Samachar Bureau ) - The most intellectual being the human
being is now a day’s facing problems of tension, depression, fear disharmony in
family, suicidal thoughts etc. The pace of life has stolen the peace of mind.
In such a situation, we rarely find a source of help and solace. Looking at
this scenario, Masterpeace Club India has been established in Bhubaneswar,
Odisha with a Peace Hipline for the selfless service to humanity.
On
Friday, 26th July, 2013, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Shri Badrinaryan Patra as Chief Guest of the launching ceremony
of the MasterPeace Club India and Peace Hipline stated that this is the need of
the hour and MasterPeace India has taken a good initiative to impart peace
education in the Society through art, music, dance, drama, street play and
cultural activities. He assured that his Government will provide full support
for the peace and conflict resolution activities of MasterPeace.
MasterPeaces
is an international grass roots level organisation with presence in more than
42 countries across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Some MasterPeaces in Odisha have
joined hands to establish MasterPeace Club India with a vision to promote peace
education though art, Music, Dance and Culture Said Dr. M. R. Mishra, the
Country Coordinator, MasterPeace Club India. He also said MasterPeace is
working worldwide (www.masterpeace.org) with the ideology to
promote peace movement through Music, dialogue, art, culture and conflict
management. MasterPeace is committed to MUSIC
above FIGHTING, DIALOGUE above JUDGEMENT, BREAD above BOMBS and
CREATION above DESTRUCTION. Its objective is to inspire everyone to use
his/her talent and energy to building peace and togetherness. In January 2011, Queen of the Netherlands on
the occasion of Big Improvement Day awarded MasterPeace as the most innovative
idea. In April 2013, MasterPeace was selected as one of the most 100 innovative
organizations worldwide. UN has endorsed MasterPeace to expand MasterPeace
Clubs in different parts of the world.
Prof(Dr) Debandranath Jena , The Vice Chancellor,
Utkal University of Culture
while speaking on the occasion as Guest of Honour, stressed that the
MasterPeace should adopt some villages and slums and declare them as Peace
villages or slums over a period through different social intervention. He
assured to provide the support of the university and will engage the artists,
musicians etc with MasterPeace in peace promotional activities.
While
speaking on the occasion Professor Radha
Mohan, the Peace and Human Rights Activist and the former State Information
Commissioner, Information Commission, Govt. Of Odisha highlighted on different dimensions of peace and non-
violence and appealed the youth mass to join hands and start creating peace within themselves,
Former Justice, Odisha High Court P.
Papanna stressed on different issues relating to religious tolerance and
conflicts resolution mechanism accured due to caste and religion. He appealed
the MasterPeacers to visit the conflict affected areas in Odisha and undertake
innovative peace building activities.
Ms. Nibedita Nayak, the Chairperson, State Social welfare Board,
Govt. Of Odisha while appreciating the efforts of MasterPeace Foundation at
global level appealed the youth to visit villages, slums and create peace
awareness to avoid conflicts.She also emphasised in the involvement of women
and girls in MasterPeace activities.
Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty, Former Vice
Chancellor, Utkal University of Culture during his presidential remark
highlighted on Buddhism and its peace movement. He also stressed to follow Gandhian
philosophy of non- violence to promote peace in India and abroad.
The
MasterPeacers of the MasterPeace Club took oath on the occassion to work
voluntarily on peace movement in India facilitated by Ms. Madhusmita Mishra, Secretary, Jeevan Rekha Parishad (JRP). Ms
Mishra also informed that there is a plan to establish an institution for
Peace and Human rights Education Study centre in Bhubaneswar with the support
of MasterPeace International.
A
cultural programme titled “Music for
Peace” was organised by MasterPeacers where the noted singer Ms. Mohapatra Minath Bhanja performed
different devotional song preaching for peace and non – violence.
All
the Board Members, Advisory Member, Corporate members were felicitated on the occasion
by Chef Guest and other Guests for their contribution and dedication. The Peace
Help Line (Hello MasterPeace) was
also started on the occasion.
Mr. Hemant Kumar Sahoo, the
MasterPeacer and Manger of Peace Hipline expressed his feeling by saying that
this peace helpline will become a blessing for all those who are unable to come
to the centre, and showed his/her faith that this helpline will be helpful to each
and every person in India to make their life better.
