( Odisha Samachar Bureau ) - The world is heading towards catastrophe because
of the negation of values and ethics in the society, senseless destruction of
natural wealth and environment and the faulty education system, said Swami
Nischalananda Saraswati, HH the Sankaracharya of Gobardhan Pith, Puri, while
addressing the students and faculties in KIIT University. Citing the example of
Uttarakhand the Shankaracharya cautioned that, unless we stop plundering the
wealth of nature, extraction of minerals and disforestation, then we have to
face concusses very soon. Speaking about the education, Shankaracharya made a
scathing attack on the western education and made it possible for the division
of joint family, desertation of the villages. The present day education gives
more importance on building new cities as a result of which the villages are
losing out, said HH Sankaracharya.
Sankaracharya was
very critical of the governments and political parties, both the party in power
and in the opposition are busy to achieve small games, but they are not strong
enough to protect Indian territories, river Brahmaputra from China. While the
British Government divided the country in to four divisions, the government of
India has been dividing the country in to small states for narrow political
game, he added.
Sankaracharya was
in KIIT University today. He addressed 20,000 tribal students in KISS yesterday
in KISS campus. Advising the young students not to run after money and fame,
which is believed, is not true education, he said.
Lauding the effort
of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, HH Sankaracharya praised him
for taking care of 20,000 poor children whom he said as the children of God. HH
was introduced to audience by Dr. A. Samanta where Swami Nirbikalpananda
Saraswati, Swami Shiv Chidanad Saraswati, Santh Sanjojaka Swami Abhaidananda
Saraswati, Dr. Amiya Mohapatry, Er. Prashant Acharya, secy. of Aditya Bahini
Pt. Matru Prashad Mishra, Ritu Gupta, Jnana Bhushan Gupta, Ashok Pandey, Ashok
Singh, Debendra Samal, Bijay Swain, Manoj Rath and Debendra Prusti were present
on the occasion.
